I have scanned this file and it's protected with "UPX 0.89.6 - 1.02 / 1.05 - 1.24". Upon trying to unpack it with UPX, I receive the following error:

upx: proxyfire.exe: CantUnpackException: file is modified/hacked/protected; take care!!!


Any help unpacking this file would be greatly appreciated. Here it is:

Try to use Quick_Unpack which you can download from cracklab, it is more robust sometimes

first of all it is packed =]
also look at wasm.ru, herein placed another compilation of UPX, which ignores header checksum and section names errors...

It's just a UPX? It's easy to unpack. If you wish to make it, you can find good manuals to unpack this and not only packers. Look here: http://www.exelab.ru/art/?action=cat&id=3

It's just a UPX?
It's a modified version of UPX packer as SLV was written.
I used for unpacking next programs:
1. Quick Unpack 1.0 RC1, - for searching import;
2. Olly Dump 2.20.108, - for dumping process;
3. ImpREC 1.6, - for fixing import table.
