Hi all!

I have a software that has a strange license generator.
Here's how it works

1) I download the program (which is a DOS program )

2), then it will not run and says that there is no license.dat

3), then I go online and download requestlicense.exe

4) then it generates license.req.

5) The software then tells me to send the created file license.req with the money.

6) The vendor then emails me license.dat, which is required in the (2) nd section

I looked around the Internet, including flexm license, but I could not find the perfect name for this type of software protection .

Please enlighten me.

I have observed that the license.req file it generates can be read as an executable on ollydbg.

Cool!! But what was it exactly ? It was such a weird license protection.. thanks a ton for the help , will run it and reply soon!

I used bpx on regqueryvalueexa .. but the function seems disabled.. any info on the idata section?
